Master of Computer Applications (MCA)

The First and Second semesters aims at preparing the graduates to handle computers in large organizations. Programming concepts and handling of various operating systems are exposed in these two semesters.

 

After successful completion of the first two semesters of MCA, if a student wishes to discontinue the course, such student shall be awarded with the Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Application [PGDCA].
In the Third and Fourth semesters, students will be exposed to programming languages, data base management techniques, Networking and Software management techniques, communication techniques along with algorithmic theories.


After successful completion of the first four semesters of MCA, if a student wishes to discontinue the course, such student shall be awarded with the Master of Science in Computer Science (MScCS).

The Fifth and Sixth semesters of the course aims to train the graduates with latest technical skills and software management skills required at the higher levels of IT management. Students will be exposed to software management, networking concepts, operating system concepts, computer architectures, processors and other advanced concepts in IT field.


After completion of Sixth semester, students shall be awarded with Masters in Computer Application (MCA)

Objective Course provides students with knowledge and skills required to lead the IT industry. The program includes software management techniques, advanced operating systems, legal issues etc.

Graduate in any discipline

3 Years (6 Semesters)

Fees:

Program Fees: Rs. 10,450.00  (I & II Semester ) per Semester inclusive of examination fees or as revised from time to time
                       Rs. 11,450.00 (III to VI Semester) per semester inclusive of examination fees or as revised from time to time

 

1st Level & 2nd Level Lateral Entry:

2nd Semester: 1. Successful completion of Graduation and six months computer course / Diploma in IT field from technical board OR
2. A 3 year Diploma from the State board of Technical Education after PUC/Higher Secondary and at least Two years experience in an IT related organization thereafter.

3rd Semester: 1. Successful completion of BScIT / BCA / BSc (Computer Science) / BE / B Tech or equivalent. This category is not eligible for exit qualification for MSc CS. OR
2. Graduation (any discipline) with PGDCA / PGDIT or equivalent from a recognized university / Successful completion of A level course from DOECC after Graduation. OR
3. Graduation (any discipline) with 2 years Diploma from CMC / ET&T / NIIT/APTECH/2 years Advanced Diploma in IT from Center for Electronic Design & Technology of India (CEDIT). This category is not eligible for exit qualification for MSc CS.

L. E. Fee:

Candidates applying for lateral entry will pay Lateral entry fee Rs. 3,700.00 and will have to appear in the examination of immediate previous semester.
